Distractions Before Death

by T.C. Lee

Do you think we humans would live longer if we didn’t know that we are supposed to die? Do you suppose the knowing makes us better accept it? Or run harder from it?

Yet still, it is the in-between that matters most…

About the Book

We only see the world from our being alive in it, don’t we?

Distractions Before Death is a collection of thoughts pondered over a lifetime: from a boyhood between a rundown trailer park and a grandfather’s alcoholism, through hard falls and second chances, to a faith that finally asked him to surrender.

It doesn’t claim to have the answers. It is one man’s honest look at why we think the way we do, what we hide behind, and what it might take to seek the truth instead of being “right.” The challenges in it are aimed at the author first.

“This book is for all who may feel out of place, insecure, less than and lost in life. The beaten and broken. The societal underdogs. The hurting. The floundering. The incarcerated. … The book is a call to all that the sun will shine for you. Keep going.”

It is meant to be read slowly, thought by thought, just as it was written.

The Author

T.C. Lee

“I am no one special. Certainly, no one better than anyone else. However, I am the only human that has ever lived this exact life that I have been granted.”

T.C. Lee came up a have-not kid from a broken home and has known both hard times and good ones. He writes as “a broken vase that has been put back together several times,” with no high horse and no ivory tower, just gratitude to still wake up each day and have a chance.

His hope is simple: that by sharing what he has learned, one reader somewhere will know they are not alone in the struggle of life. He would like to hear your story too.
